💻🤖 Coding the Future: Students Create, Program, and Innovate in Computer Science

John R. King School is excited to launch a brand-new Computer Science elective that is opening doors to creativity, innovation, and problem-solving for students! 🚀✨ This dynamic class gives scholars hands-on opportunities to explore how technology works and how they can use it to make a positive impact in the world 🌍💡.

Taught by Rashida Griffin, the course is rooted in the belief that technology is more than something to consume. It is a powerful tool for students to amplify their voices and creativity 🎤🎨. With a strong passion for empowering children, Ms. Griffin guides students to create and produce technology that can shine a positive light on their community.

In class, students are actively programming robots 🤖, learning how binary code 💻 communicates information, and developing computational thinking skills through real-world applications. Scholars explore algorithms, block coding, JavaScript, robotics, circuits, and more ⚙️🔌, building both confidence and curiosity as they learn.

This engaging elective encourages students to think critically, collaborate with peers 🤝, and persevere through challenges, skills that are essential for success in today’s digital world and future STEM careers 🌟📊.

The Computer Science elective is already sparking excitement across the school, as students discover that they are not just users of technology, they are creators, innovators, and problem-solvers ready to shape the future 🚀💻✨.
